Evelyn’s Family Trip to Da Nang & Hoi An: 11 Guests from the Philippines Enjoy 6 Days 5 Nights in Vietnam

From Ba Na Hills and the lantern streets of Hoi An to basket boats, a Vietnamese cooking class and a special wedding anniversary celebration, Evelyn’s family of 11 enjoyed six memorable days exploring Central Vietnam with Tan Trinh Travel.
Vietnam is always more meaningful when the journey is shared with family.
In September 2026, Ms. Evelyn and her family, a group of 11 guests from the Philippines, chose Tan Trinh Travel to arrange their 6-day, 5-night holiday in Da Nang and Hoi An.
Rather than simply visiting famous attractions, the family had the opportunity to experience different sides of Central Vietnam: local culture, Vietnamese cuisine, traditional farming activities, beautiful mountain scenery, ancient streets and Da Nang’s lively nightlife.
And judging from the smiles, laughter and cooking videos captured during the journey, there were plenty of good memories along the way. 🇵🇭🇻🇳

Day 1: From Da Nang Airport to the Charm of Hoi An

The journey began as soon as Evelyn’s family landed at Da Nang International Airport, where our team welcomed the group and assisted them with their transfer.
Their first day introduced them to a quieter and more traditional side of Central Vietnam.
The family visited Tra Que Vegetable Village, a peaceful farming community near Hoi An known for its fresh herbs and traditional agricultural lifestyle.
Instead of only looking around, guests could get closer to local life and experience the rural atmosphere that has shaped Vietnamese cuisine for generations.
Later, the journey continued to Hoi An Ancient Town.

Walking through the old streets, the family explored several of Hoi An’s historical and cultural landmarks, including traditional assembly halls, old houses and the famous Japanese Covered Bridge.
As evening arrived, the town completely changed its personality.
Lanterns began glowing above the streets, shops came alive and the family had time to walk around the Hoi An Night Market, take photos and enjoy the atmosphere of one of Vietnam’s most beautiful heritage destinations.
Day 2: Basket Boat Fun, Vietnamese Cooking and Local Life

For many travelers, sightseeing creates beautiful photos.
But hands-on experiences often create the funniest memories.
Day two brought Evelyn’s family to the famous Bay Mau Coconut Forest in Hoi An.
Here, the group climbed into traditional Vietnamese basket boats and travelled through the green coconut waterways.
The round bamboo boats are quite different from the boats most international visitors are familiar with, which made the experience especially entertaining for the family.
And of course, a visit to the Coconut Forest would not be complete without plenty of laughter on the water.
Learning to Cook Vietnamese Food

After the basket boat experience, the family joined a Vietnamese cooking class.
This became one of the most interactive moments of their trip.
Instead of simply sitting down at a restaurant and waiting for lunch, everyone had the opportunity to participate in preparing Vietnamese dishes themselves.
From learning about local ingredients to following the instructor step by step, the cooking session gave the family a small taste of Vietnamese home-style food culture.
The videos from this activity are especially valuable because they capture something photographs sometimes miss: the guests laughing, talking and enjoying the experience together.
“Evelyn’s family learning how to prepare Vietnamese food during their cooking class at the Coconut Forest.”
These authentic moments are exactly what make a family trip memorable.
The day later continued with more local sightseeing before the group stopped at Da Nang Cathedral, commonly known as the Pink Church, one of the city’s most recognizable photo spots.

Day 3: Above the Clouds at Ba Na Hills

No first family trip to Da Nang would feel complete without a day at Ba Na Hills.
The family travelled by cable car high into the mountains, enjoying panoramic views as they climbed above Da Nang.
And waiting at the top was one of Vietnam’s most photographed attractions:
The Golden Bridge

Held by two enormous stone hands and surrounded by mountains, the Golden Bridge is often one of the places visitors are most excited to see before arriving in Da Nang.
Naturally, it also became one of the family’s major photo stops.
The day continued through:
- Le Jardin D’Amour Flower Garden
- French Village
- Ba Na Hills entertainment areas
- Mountain viewpoints
- A large buffet lunch featuring a wide selection of dishes
It was a full day of sightseeing, photography, food and family time.
But the experience did not end when they came back down from Ba Na Hills.
An Evening on the Han River

After exploring the mountains during the day, Evelyn’s family experienced Da Nang from a completely different perspective at night.
They joined a Han River cruise, watching the illuminated city skyline from the water.
Da Nang becomes particularly attractive after sunset, when the bridges, riverside buildings and streets begin to light up.
For families visiting the city, a river cruise offers a slower and more relaxing way to end a busy sightseeing day.
From mountains above the clouds in the morning to city lights reflected on the river at night, Day 3 showed just how different one day in Da Nang can feel.
Day 4: Culture, Nature and Da Nang’s Coastline

The fourth day introduced the family to some of Da Nang’s most important natural and spiritual landmarks.
Their first major stop was Marble Mountains, where caves, pagodas, viewpoints and limestone formations come together in one historic destination.
The itinerary then continued toward Son Tra Peninsula and Linh Ung Pagoda, home to the famous Lady Buddha statue overlooking the sea.

The location offers a combination of Buddhist culture, mountain scenery and views across the coastline of Da Nang.
Later, the family also had time to enjoy My Khe Beach, one of the most popular coastal areas in the city.
From ancient caves to pagodas and beaches, the day offered another completely different side of Da Nang.
Music and Nightlife at Kala Da Nang
Family holidays do not always have to end after dinner.
In the evening, Evelyn’s family enjoyed a night at Kala Da Nang, with music, DJ performances and live entertainment near the beach.
It added a lively change of pace after several days of sightseeing.
Seeing guests dancing, laughing and relaxing together is also a reminder that a good itinerary should not simply fill every hour with attractions.
Sometimes the best travel memories happen when everyone can simply enjoy the moment.
Day 5: Exploring Da Nang at a Relaxed Pace

After several activity-filled days, Day 5 was designed to be more flexible.
The family visited several recognizable landmarks in central Da Nang, including:
Dragon Bridge and Love Bridge.
These locations are particularly popular for photos and provide easy access to the Han River area.
The rest of the day gave the family more freedom to relax, explore the city and spend time together without rushing between attractions.
This balance is particularly important for family groups.
A six-day itinerary should provide enough activities to make the journey worthwhile, while still leaving guests time to rest and enjoy their holiday.
A Special Wedding Anniversary Surprise

There was also another celebration hidden inside this family holiday.
During the trip, our team helped prepare a special hotel room decoration to celebrate a wedding anniversary.
Travel is already about creating memories, but marking an important family milestone while travelling makes the experience even more meaningful.
Flowers, decorations and a small surprise transformed an ordinary hotel room into part of the celebration.
For our team, moments like these matter just as much as arranging transportation or attraction tickets.
Because a tour is not simply about where guests visit.
It is also about why they are travelling together.
Day 6: One Last Morning in Da Nang

After five days filled with new places and experiences, Evelyn’s family enjoyed some final free time in Da Nang before preparing for their flight home.
Our team then arranged their transfer from the hotel to Da Nang International Airport.
Six days earlier, they had arrived as visitors ready to discover Vietnam.
They left with photographs from Ba Na Hills, videos from their cooking class, memories from the Coconut Forest, lantern-filled evenings in Hoi An and plenty of family moments shared along the way.
More Than Sightseeing: A Family Experience in Vietnam
What made Evelyn’s 6D5N journey special was not one single attraction.
It was the variety.
One day the family was planting vegetables and discovering rural Vietnamese life.
The next, they were cooking Vietnamese food.
Then they were standing above the clouds at Ba Na Hills, walking under Hoi An’s lanterns, cruising along the Han River or enjoying music beside My Khe Beach.
These experiences allowed the family to see several different sides of Central Vietnam within one journey.
For us at Tan Trinh Travel, seeing our guests enjoying themselves throughout the trip is one of the most rewarding parts of our work.
